Happy Mother’s Day

I had an unexpected surprise this Mother’s Day. While I was out, I ran into my daughter’s first grade teacher. My daughter is almost 18 now, and I had not seen her teacher in years. She recognized me instantly and pulled me into the biggest hug.

We stood there reminiscing about the “good old days,” but also about the struggles my daughter faced back then. If you are raising a child with mental health challenges or disabilities, you probably know the weight I mean. The sleepless nights. The worry. The constant second guessing. The quiet mom guilt that creeps in and whispers that maybe you could have done more or done something differently.

Then she said something that brought tears to my eyes immediately.

She told me she remembered watching me with my daughter all those years ago and thinking how lucky my daughter was to have me as her mom.

And then the affirmations kept coming.

In a world where parents carrying invisible battles are often exhausted, overlooked, and running on empty, her words felt like someone finally saw the strength it took just to keep going. She left me feeling validated, supported, loved, and stronger than I have felt in a long time.

So this Mother’s Day, I want to pass those words on to you.

You are the perfect mom for your child. Your child is lucky to have you. There is no one better for them than you.

And to the mothers raising children with mental health struggles, disabilities, emotional challenges, or invisible battles of any kind, I see you.

The strength it takes to keep showing up every single day is extraordinary. Even when no one else notices. Even when you are questioning yourself. Even when you are tired beyond words.

You are stronger than you know, wiser than you think, and braver than any superhero.

All my love to you this Mother’s Day. 🤍
