School is starting back up, and it won't be long before calendars are full with all kinds of extracurricular activities. As glorious as it sounds to get back to some sort of normal life, I want to remind you to be gentle with your children. Pause before you commit to something new and consider their mental health.
Remember, the kids we're sending back to school are not the same kids we picked up from school in March of 2020. Their whole world has been flipped upside down, and the issues they are dealing with are heavier than ever.
In my recent article on www.herviewfromhome.com, I talk about the importance of pausing before reacting, responding, and committing. Pausing helps us make wiser decisions for ourselves and our children. It helps us prioritize
mental health.
